SUMMARY:Awaawaroa Bay Eco Village Open Day
DESCRIPTION:Curious about intentional communities and living lightly? Come along to the Awaawaroa Bay Eco Village Open Day for a day of talks\, walks\, and workshops exploring two ara (paths) of eco-village life: our relationship with the land and with the people who live upon it. The day begins with a presentation and Q&A about the Eco Village\, followed by morning tea; this portion of the event is free thanks to support from the Neighbours Day programme. After morning tea\, participants can choose from a range of workshops\, including raranga/weaving\, keeping a house cow\, garden goddesses\, and more. \nPlease bring your own picnic lunch. After lunch\, you’re invited on a guided walk to explore the gardens\, wetlands\, and earthbrick homes\, with the day finishing at around 3 pm. Please note that Awaawaroa Bay is a bird sanctuary\, and no dogs are permitted on the land. \nThis is a Neighbours Aoteaora event funded by the Waiheke Local Board; its aim is to spark new neighbourhood connections and create a flourishing\, inclusive and resilient Waiheke together.
