DESCRIPTION:Clay plastering.\nCome and learn about earthen clay plastering as a sustainable building practice. We’ll learn to prepare a natural clay plaster mix and apply it to an existing structure. You will also learn about the composition of the various materials that make a good plaster. \nWe’ll start with an orientation on site and some theory around clay plasters\, their uses in both modern and traditional architecture\, production of a batch of clay plaster\, and a basic plastering tool tutorial for all skill levels. \nBring along: clothes that can get dirty\, work gloves\, decent footwear\, protective goggles and ear muffs. Tools will be supplied\, but feel free to bring plastering trowels if you have them.\nMorning tea and coffee supplied\, please bring lunch and snacks. \nEarth is not a poor man’s material; it is a wise one.
