DESCRIPTION:Be the change you want to see. Join a friendly bunch\, of community minded environmentalists – and give our natives trees a chance! \nSpend the morning at the beautiful Shepherds Park amongst the vibrant birdlife. We will get cracking to remove the park’s top five invasive weeds: \n– Honeysuckle\n– Jasmine\n– Cape Ivy\n– Banana Passion Vine\n– Privet (seedlings) \nWe will spot and report these weeds to council contractors:\n– Climbing asparagus\n– Moth plant\n– Wild ginger \n  \nWhat to bring: \n\nA good sense of humour & can do attitude\nWear sturdy clean shoes\nGardening gloves & weeding tools if you have them. Some will be available for your use.\nA keen eye for spotting invasive weeds\nYour own water bottle\n\nMeet at the Fale / Heritage Shelter Shepherds Park. \nNo previous experience necessary: Basic training will be provided. \nFollowed by coffee / tea and morning tea. \n\n  \nDid you know that spending time in nature has proven to increase wellbeing? Studies have shown that being in nature\, and especially being active or getting your hands dirty can massively reduce stress and anxiety\, improve overall health and brain function\, and lead to increased happiness! These happy health effects can be significantly amplified when the experience is also sociable\, so tell your friends to come along\, or make new friends with our group of regular local volunteers!
