DESCRIPTION:Join the Greenhithe Community Trust at Wainoni Park this EcoFest 2026 \nSpend a morning in nature\, meet friendly locals\, and help restore one of Greenhithe’s most loved parks. \nBe part of the Friends of Wainoni Park \nThis welcoming volunteer group meets Thursday mornings under the supervision of our facilitator Gary.\nThere’s a wide range of tasks to suit different fitness levels\, making it a great way to connect with others while caring for our environment. \nWhat you can get involved in \n\nReleasing native trees from weeds\nPest plant control\nPreparing areas for native plantings\nSpreading mulch around native plantings\nCaring for the community edible garden\nGetting fit and forming new friendships\n\nWhat to bring \nPlease bring a cold drink\,  a sunhat\, and sturdy shoes with good grip.\nLong sleeves and trousers are recommended in some areas.\nMorning tea is provided.
