About this Event
Learn how to make beautiful, sustainable art materials from the plants around you!
In this hands-on workshop from Wild Studio, you’ll discover how to make artist’s drawing charcoal, hand-crafted dip pens, rich black ink and vibrant coloured painting inks (similar to liquid watercolours), and will take all of these home with you, as well as the skills and knowledge to continue making more. You’ll also have time to play and experiment with your new art materials.
Emma and Sarah will guide you step-by-step through the processes, with all materials provided. Suitable for all levels of experience, age 12+
“This was honestly one of the most satisfying weekend activities I’ve done in months. I loved that it mixed nature, art, colour and science. It was a total delight making practical things with materials you can get in your garden, or your neighbours garden… ha!” – B Johnson.
This workshop will be held in the UNITEC building located within the Auckland Botanic Gardens, about a 5 min walk from the Huakaiwaka visitor centre. Maps are available at the visitors centre, and you can also ask the visitors centre reception staff for directions if unsure.
Cost: $180
