About this Event
Join Te Whau Pathway Project for their 4th annual World Water Day photo competition! The 2025 theme is Glacier Preservation—but what does that have to do with the Whau River? 🌊
We challenge you to capture images that reflect preservation, climate change impact, rising sea levels, and the ways our community and environment is interconnected. Whether it’s the flow of water through our landscapes, signs of change in our ecosystems, or the ways we care for our natural world, we want to see your perspective.
🏆 Prizes: Winning entries will be showcased in a public exhibition and receive a prize!
📅 Competition Dates:
- Open for entries 22nd March
- Entries close 5th April
- Winners announced 22nd April
Te Whau Pathway is a shared path that will one day connect between the Waitematā and Manukau harbours. The pathway will provide the opportunity for amazing recreational choices and safer and more sustainable alternatives for travel. Nurturing a sense of pride, ownership and kaitiakitanga of the Whau River, one of the jewels in West Auckland’s crown. Te Whau Pathway connecting communities, nature, and the awa.
This event is proudly supported by the New Zealand Government, Te Whau Pathway Project and Auckland Council.
