SUMMARY:RESCHEDULED: Eco-sourced Seed Collection Workshop
DESCRIPTION:RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY 17TH MAY \n  \nJoin us in the bush at Camp Adair for a guided native seed collection day\, helping gather locally sourced seed for future restoration projects across the catchment. \nWe’ll begin with a short introduction to native seed collection\, including how to identify species\, collect responsibly\, and understand why eco-sourced seed matters for healthy\, resilient ecosystems. From there\, we’ll head into the bush to collect seed by hand\, following best-practice guidelines to ensure minimal impact on the environment. \nBack at camp\, we’ll reveal what usually happens behind closed nursery doors. Volunteers will learn how collected seed is handled\, cleaned\, stored\, and prepared for propagation\, including common mistakes to avoid and simple techniques that make a big difference to germination success. The seeds collected will be used to grow native plants for local planting projects. \nBring sturdy footwear\, weather appropriate clothing\, gloves if preferred\, and a sense of curiosity. No experience needed. All tools and guidance provided.
