Chickens are delightful and amazing creatures. They bring joy to your life and add charm to your garden!

Aya, a hen rescuer and former WISCA animal advocate, will guide you through the basic care for chickens. She’ll provide tips and advice on setting up their home, managing their diet, and conducting basic health checks. This is a great way to meet other neighbours interested in having chooks or be introduced to what it’s like lo live with chickens on Waiheke.

Light snacks and drinks will be provided.

This event is suitable for all ages*, and we kindly request a koha contribution (going towards chicken treats) to join.

*Please note: Part of the section is steep and uneven. We recommend wearing appropriate footwear for your comfort and safety.

This is a Neighbours Aotearoa event funded by the Waiheke Local Board;  its aim is to spark new neighbourhood connections and create a flourishing, inclusive and resilient Waiheke together.
