Whānau Fun at Riviera Reserve – Conservation Hīkoi

Join us for a free afternoon of discovery and connection with nature, in partnership with Ōtara Waterways and Lakes Trust! This family-friendly conservation hīkoi is a great way to explore the beautiful Reserve, learn about native ecosystems, and find out how we can all be awesome kaiawhina (advocates) of the whenua.

We’ll walk the land, search the stream for eels, spot invasive species, and learn how to protect our natural taonga (treasures)—all while having fun outdoors with whānau and friends. Perfect for curious kids, nature lovers, and anyone keen to make a difference!

We will finish the afternoon with kia and share our reflections.
