Want to grow your own fresh vegetables, herbs, and leafy greens—but don’t know where to start?

Join Dig It! Community Garden at EcoFest for a hands-on Gardening 101 workshop designed for absolute beginners!

In this fun and interactive session, you’ll learn how to:

Make compost to feed your plants

Learn how to read seed packs and grow your own vegetables to supplement your diet or income

Water and care for your garden with confidence

Harvest fresh produce without damaging your plants

Take part in planting, composting, and harvesting activities, and leave with your very own planted pot and a handy gardening cheat sheet to start growing at home.

Perfect for families, urban gardeners, and anyone curious about sustainable gardening.

Absolute beginners, kids, families, and curious gardeners of all ages and abilities welcome

Share a bowl of soup at lunch prepared from vegetables harvested fresh from our garden.

 

Dig It! Royal Oak Organic Garden in Auckland is a fully accessible, volunteer-run community hub under CCS Disability Action, featuring raised garden beds and a multi-level food forest. Established in 1982 to promote horticultural skills, this inclusive, organic space welcomes all, particularly supporting people with disabilities to engage in gardening.
