About this Event

Hear from Rachel Thompson, Lead Environmental Education Coordinator for Kids Greening Taupō. She believes that connecting children with nature today is creating our conservation leaders of tomorrow. She loves seeing the excitement and sense of wonder that tamariki have when learning about our native flora and fauna – in particular butterflies.

Kids Greening Taupō was set up as a pilot project, using community collaboration to involve students in authentic restoration work. KGT enables young people to participate in real-life projects, creating opportunities to connect in a culturally responsive way to their local environment and community, increasing biodiversity, student leadership, and educational outcomes. The ideas you will pick up from what KGT has achieved will inspire you to inspire others and do more in your own community, whether it is on your patio, your own backyard, your local park, or further afield, and our Lepidoptera will be the winners.

Join us on Google Meet for this exciting presentation!

Note: The presentation will commence at the end of the AGM of the Moths and Butterflies of NZ Trust (usually very brief). Members and non-members are all very welcome.
