Waiheke Island’s diverse peoples represent their country and culture, by cooking a 2-3 course plant-based meal for the community as part On Easter Monday, join Flavia, Igor and family this Easter Monday for a plant-based taste of Brazilian food and culture!

This special dining experience inspire and teach people to be meat-free to help our precious environment. Dishes that may once have been traditionally made from meat are creatively transformed by our cooks, who are challenged to substitute meat for plant-based ingredients whilst being mindful of budget.

Feijoada, the national dish of Brazil – a hearty black bean stew with vegan chorizo. This will be served with Banana Farofa, made from toasted cassava and vegetables; and sauteed greens with a special Brazilian vinaigrette.

Dessert will be Paçoca, a traditional peanut sweet; and a smoothie made from Acai berries, a grape-like fruit native to the Brazilian rainforest.

The cooking workshop starts at 4pm and is a fun opportunity to meet new people and learn about the dishes while helping cook for the evening. If coming for the workshop please wear closed shoes to comply with health and safety regulations. You can also come from 6pm for dining only; join us at 6pm.
