What might a collective, community-based response to the climate crisis look like in Auckland? How can neighbourliness help us to live more sustainably now, while preparing for the future? With the cost of living increasing, social support retreating and climate and related emergencies on the rise, join us at Earthsong Eco-Neighbourhood to explore how to grow resilience in your neighbourhood.

Earthsong is a 32 unit eco-neighbourhood in West Auckland that has been experimenting with how to grow neighbourliness for resilience for a quarter of a century. Join us for a tour, light lunch and workshop. Bring yourself, your friends and your family. Kids welcome (and free) but no childminding provided.

Agenda for the day:

9.40am – Registration (no onsite parking available, so please allow extra time).

10am – Presentation on how cohousing and ecological thinking underpin the physical and social design of Earthsong.

11am – Guided tour of the community.

12pm – Light vegetarian lunch with gluten free and vegan options.

1pm – Earthsong documentary film about Neighbourliness for Resilience followed by workshop exploring practical opportunities to strengthen neighbourliness in your neighbourhood.

3pm  – Close.
