Pasifika Day Waiheke

About this Event

Pasifika Day is a free, family-friendly cultural festival celebrating the diverse Pacific cultures of Waiheke Island and the wider Hauraki Gulf community.

Enjoy a relaxed, village-style atmosphere with cultural performances, live music, Pacific food stalls and BBQ, children’s games and craft activities, storytelling, and community information tables. There will be seating and shaded areas for families and kaumātua, with opportunities for youth participation and volunteering. The day concludes with a professional fire dance finale.

Programme (approximate timetable)

• 7:30am – 10:00am: Event set-up, stallholder arrival, and safety briefing

• 10:00am: Welcome, opening karakia and pōwhiri

• 10:15am – 12:00pm: Morning cultural performances and children’s activities

• 12:00pm – 2:30pm (peak period): Main performance programme and food service

• 2:30pm – 4:30pm: Community participation performances, music, and youth items

• 4:30pm: Final performances, acknowledgements, closing thanks, and announcements
