About this Event
Join Sustainable Coastlines for a community clean-up of Point Chevalier’s coastline and learn about the work done by local schools to look after our waterways and ocean.
There are two sites to choose from: Point Chevalier Beach and along the coast from Eric Armishaw Park. We’ll kick off in the morning to make the most of low tide. Meet us at your chosen location, where we’ll do a health and safety briefing and distribute gloves and sacks.
After the clean-up, make sure you head back to Coyle Park next to Point Chev Beach to check out our showcase of the litter data collection work done by local schools on the connection between our waterways and the ocean. Celebrate student contributions and get an insight into how litter data can help to inform wider change in behaviour and policies.
Everyone is welcome, and we encourage you to make use of the wonderful new cycleways in the area to make your way to the sites. Consider picking up any litter you see on your way here!
Bring along decent shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a full drink bottle, and your passion for looking after our amazing coastlines.
Made possible thanks to the Albert-Eden Local Board. We can’t wait to see you there!
Cost: Free
