Wear the Future | 穿出未来 is a creative youth sustainability initiative combining environmental education and artistic expression.

The project engages Auckland’s Asian youth to design and present sustainable wearable art made entirely from recycled, repurposed and eco-friendly materials.

Guided by professional contemporary artists Deng Xinli and Xie Yi, 50 youth participants will take part in three hands-on workshops and a final runway showcase that transforms waste into art.

Through creative upcycling, participants will learn about waste minimisation, sustainable design principles, and the value of re-use while celebrating Asian cultural heritage and environmental stewardship.

This initiative supports the Auckland Council’s Zero Waste 2040 vision by reducing waste to landfill through community education, creative reuse, and youth-led advocacy for sustainability.

A light lunch will be provided.
