About this Event
Get your hands dirty for a good cause at our Community Weeding Bee.
Nestled along the banks of the Whau River, this special place is home to native plants, birds, and insects—and it needs a little help from us. Join neighbours and local nature-lovers as we work together to remove invasive weeds, learn how healthy ecosystems function, and discover which plants belong where (and why).
No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Along the way, you’ll pick up practical knowledge about weeds and restoration, share stories and laughs, and connect with others who care about looking after our local environment. Please wear comfortable outdoor clothing and bring a sunhat, sunscreen, closed-in shoes, and a drink bottle. It’s a great way to give back, learn something new, and be part of a community making a real difference.
All ages are welcome, though under 12s must have adult supervision. Gloves will be provided.
Cost: Free
