14 March - 12 April 2015
One month. Two festivals.
Discover - Regenerate - Make - Learn
The EcoWest Festival is happening again for 2015 with a month-long series of events from March 15 – April 12 which is inspired by the Eco City way of life, and organised by EcoMatters Environment Trust.
The EcoWest Festival is the ultimate celebration of the leadership role Waitakere has played in creatively engaging citizens in environmental restoration and sustainable lifestyles since the early 90s when we became the world’s first Eco City.
The events will be hosted by innovative environmental organisations, businesses, sustainability experts and creative entrepreneurs who embrace eco ideas through their work.

Ecofest North is brought to you thanks to core support from Auckland Council, and proud sponsors, Ray White North Shore.
The festival offers a month of fun, practical, creative events that guide residents of the greater North Shore on their journey to living more sustainably.
Ecofest North kicks off on Sat 14 March with a massive family fun day at the Birkdale bush HQ of festival co-ordinators Kaipatiki Project Environment Centre.
Rolling out across the month will be:
- home-spun and expert tips, talks and workshops that will inspire us all to live better
- community-building races, challenges and fun-days that promote care for our neighbourhoods
- a showcase of awesome volunteer-led environmental actions that are transforming our wild and urban nature-spaces
Win big by taking the Sustainable Whanau Challenge – over $8,000 worth of eco-prizes to be won in this Auckland-wide online event.
