About this Event
Join us for an afternoon of community, conservation, and creativity along Te Whau Pathway.
🚣 On the Awa – Explore Te Whau by kayak with Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust and Auckland Sea Kayaks. Learn about waterway protection, observe local wildlife, and help keep the awa clean by removing rubbish.
🌿 On the Land – Drop in throughout the afternoon for nature-based workshops with Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust and Whau the People. Try your hand at raranga (weaving), engage in freshwater monitoring, and create art inspired by the natural world.
Come along and connect with te taiao, our environment, through hands-on activities that celebrate and protect our shared spaces.
Te Whau Pathway Project is partnering with Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust, Auckland Sea Kayaks and Whau the People to deliver this event.
This event is proudly supported by the New Zealand Government and Te Whau Pathway Project; Foundation North and Auckland Council.
Te Whau Pathway is a shared path that will one day connect the Waitematā and Manukau harbours.
The pathway will provide the opportunity for amazing recreational choices and safer and more sustainable alternatives for travel. Nurturing a sense of pride, ownership and kaitiakitanga of the Whau River, one of the jewels in West Auckland’s crown.
