The Phoenix Palm Problem

About this Event

The Phoenix palm (Phoenix canariensis) may look iconic in our gardens and streets, but they present real challenges for communities and the environment. Join New Zealand advocate Ian Dustin to learn why these palms are considered a pest plant in some regions, how their sharp spines pose safety risks, and what their spread can mean for native ecosystems. Find out what we can do — from awareness to responsible management — to better protect people and places.
